What is ICAR AICE SRF/JRF (PGS) ?
ICAR AICE JRF/SRF Eligibility Criteria
- The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the All India Competitive Examination (AICE) in order to offer candidates admission in Doctoral Degree Programmes (PhD) and award for JRF/SRF (PGS). The ICAR AICE SRF/JRF is conducted on behalf of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The ICAR AICE JRF/SRF is conducted in 73 subjects at 88 cities all over the country to ensure participation for admission in doctoral degree programmes in different disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Community Science (erstwhile Home Science), Fisheries, Dairy Science and other allied sciences.
ICAR AICE JRF/SRF Eligibility Criteria
- Indian nationals who have passed Master’s Degree programme with a minimum of Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) from any public-funded/Govt. institution will be eligible. In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured a minimum per cent score as shown in the table below:
- Candidates passed out from private universities which are not accredited by ICAR, are not eligible for the examinations. Students who have studied from private universities accredited by ICAR are eligible.
- The candidate must complete the postgraduate degree in all respects and should have all the degree-completion requirements at the time of Counseling/admission in the university failing which they will not be considered for admission and the award of fellowship.
- Education Qualification – The candidate should have done their postgraduate programme with a minimum Overal Grade Pont Average (OGPA) from any university which is accredited by ICAR.
- Age Criteria: Candidate should be 20 years old minimum to apply.

- The admission process for ICAR AICE JRF/SRF is as follows :
Registration :
- Candidates who are interested will have to visit the official website of ICAR AICE NTA and register themselves. The candidate will have to register to get details on email ID and mobile phone. Once registered, the candidate can proceed to apply for admission in the course interested in.
Fill Up Application Form :
- Once registered, The candidate has to enter the following details:
- Personal Details – Name, Address, Phone No, Category, Parents Details
- Academic Details – Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, Post graduation details
- Upload Images – Passport Size Photograph and Signature
- Pay Application Fee – Via Online mode – Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card
Admit Card :
- Once the candidate has successfully applied online, the candidate can download the admit card which will be released on the official website of ICAR AICE NTA. The admit card is an important document which needs to be carried to the exam centre which will be mentioned on the admit card.
ICAR AICE JRF/SRF Exam :
- Students need to appear for the national-level entrance exam which will be conducted in online mode i.e. computer-based test. Students are advised to reach the allotted exam centre at the given time.
Results :
- The ICAR AICE JRF/SRF result will be released online on the official website of ICAR AICE NTA. Students will have to log in to check the results. The results will contain the candidate’s marks secured and percentage.
Counselling :
- Students who make the merit list, will have to appear for the counselling session at the given date and time. The counselling session will be done online and students can book their seat on the basis of rank secured and position on the merit list. The counselling details will be mentioned on the official website of ICAR.
